About the Exibition
Curated in collaboration with ICAC Art Gallery, Kashinath Salve and AQ@Priyasri The Artist Studio, the exhibition presents 111 prominent printmakers of India. Spanning generations, there is a confluence of diverse artistic expressions with the medium of printmaking as the common denominator. From masters such as Akbar Padamsee, Jogen Chowdhury, and K.G. Subramanyan to newer voices such as Viraj Naik, Aparna Caur, among many others, the show offers a panoramic view of India’s printmaking legacy.
The show highlights the experimentation within the medium of print and how its boundaries have been pushed by these artists continuously. Each work is a photographic expression that transcends mere reproduction and reflects the evolution of printmaking while still maintaining its inherent quality of tactility and intimacy.
