About the Exibition
Baroda Diary curated by Priyasri Patodia brings together 14 emerging artists from the Faculty of Fine Arts, MSU, Baroda who use various mediums from printmaking, painting, sculpture, and video as their artistic expression. The show presents an intersection of visions that come together to reveal memories, cultures and material experimentations that bud in one of the finest art hubs in India.
From painting, printmaking to sculpture, and mix-media to video installations, these reflect influences of cultures and values that the artists carry from their surroundings and homes. These works are transformed by memories of childhood and experiences of the past at home from diverse cultural fabrics. With an undercurrent of socio-economical and political influences, though these works may have traces from the past, they are used to break boundaries.
By gathering such diverse practices under one frame, Two Zero One Six celebrates the new visual language forged by these emerging artists.
