Glaze & Glare I

This is a group exhibition dedicated to the celebrated and introverted ceramic artists.
Curated by Priyasri Patodia, Glaze & Glare I is an exhibition that celebrates the beauty of ceramics and glass, mediums that are often overlooked in contemporary Indian art. In a time where the audience is looking at various mediums, the exhibition pushes forth ceramics, its intriguing processes and final result. The show features leading ceramic artists Gopinath S., Anju Pawar, Niharika and Vinod Daroz, here the body of works ranges from decorative pieces to abstract forms.

Glaze & Glare I showcases a wide range of works reflecting forms that have been transformed by these artists which are tactile, contemplative and richly expressive. Various works explore visual tensions by combining and contrasting seemingly opposite characteristics on a single work; glazed and unglazed, gloss and matt, bright colors with muted earth tones. Each work contains deep integration of ceramic creativity and philosophical underpinnings, which is especially seen in the works of Vinod Daroz and Gopinath S.

The exhibition is a confluence of experimental art where through the medium of ceramics the artists redefine visual aesthetics which forms the core of Glaze & Glare I.
