About the Exibition
In Time, All Will Be Tilted is a special exhibition presented for MGW, featuring works by three artists from the UNTITLED series, a virtual initiative launched by Priyasri Art Gallery, Mumbai and AQ@Priyasri - The Artist Studio, Baroda, at the onset of the lockdown. This exhibition marks a shift from the digital to the physical, reviving the experience of art within the white cube space.
Anchored in the evolving “new normal,” the show reflects the profound uncertainty brought on by the global pandemic. As echoed in the quote, “Uncertainty is an uncomfortable position. But certainty is an absurd one,” the artists embrace instability as a core part of their practice. Their works collectively address themes of land, labour, and ecology, drawing upon the broader discourse of the Anthropocene and social disparities.
Kumar Misal explores materiality through handmade natural fibre papers, connecting intimately with the earth. Abhishek presents a satirical take on aggressive urbanisation, employing concrete symbols to critique its effects. Roshan Anvekar’s painted gunny cloths evoke the sorrow of lost regional crafts and the plight of the working class, especially during the pandemic lockdown.
Together, these artists construct a visual narrative that navigates ecological trauma, socio-economic imbalance, and the human response to crisis. In Time, All Will Be Tilted is both a continuation and a transformation, an exhibition that brings into focus the resilience of artistic inquiry during times of disorientation and change.
