About the Exibition

Lyrical Reconstruction brings together eminent artists of the Bengal School, an art movement that redefined modern Indian art through its deeply rooted cultural and traditional consciousness. The school emerged in the early 20th century as an artistic as well as an intellectual response to colonial modernity where it adopted aesthetics and symbolism from the indigenous and traditional Indian practices.

The exhibition gathers diverse visual vocabularies of these artists in various mediums, which have continued to resonate with the spirit of introspection and renewal even after so many decades. Lyrical Reconstructions invites viewers to witness how a shared legacy unfolds across generations, shaping new ways of seeing while honouring a history inseparable from India’s cultural imagination.
