Someones-Reality-Someones-Fiction

The exhibition Someone's Reality, Someone's Fiction by Priyasri Art Gallery in collaboration with Mumbai Gallery Weekend 2024, brings together four contemporary artists - Ishita Debnath Biswas, Tilottama B., Priyanka D’Souza, and Veda Thozhur Kolleri. The exhibition showcases works that reflect storytelling, and how it remains central to our understanding of the world.

The diverse exchanges, communication and relations are an ongoing narrative that we consume everyday and become a part of it, too. Storytelling continues to be a constant link whether it is an intangible or tangible mode of representation. The exhibition, in this case, considers objects of books, among others, as a resourceful visual reservoir of chronologies and tales that are not
only ongoing but reshaping the multitudes of situations and perspectives.

The artists in the exhibition explore various themes, whether it be the urban spaces under Ghaziabad’s flyover filled with abstract visual sequences by Biswas that create unusual balance between the natural and the constructed; or Kolleri’s documentation of the flora around her which reveals how landscape design, pruning and control reshape ecological life to suit human comfort.

Together the exhibition questions the shifting terrains of memory and imagination.
