Untitled I - II

Priyasri Art Gallery is pleased to present Untitled I and Untitled II, two online exhibitions with a collective of artists who have been connected with the gallery as well as AQ@Priyasri - The Artist Studio, Baroda for a very long time.
The exhibition puts forth an inquiry during these unprecedented times: Is digital the new “normal”? With Covid-19, the process of welcoming and embracing the virtual world has only fastened up; and the question that emerges is how will the art world function even when lockdown is set aside. Are the artists going to adopt the virtual world as their new medium to produce, while still some of them criticising it for bringing in the change over the tactile experience? Will they be working keeping in mind how the work is portrayed without a white cube facility?
Virtual reality and imaging technology is opening up new opportunities for solution integrators and partners to help organizations survive during our moment of isolation. While VR had been previously stuck as a niche technology for gamers, it may be having its breakout moment during this pandemic, allowing us to collaborate, view, and experience the world in a whole new way. It is certain that VR is here to stay. It opens up opportunities for young emerging artists and the art community to explore art and stay connected like never before.
This exhibition was launched using a virtual reality space which was designed by an amateur aspiring artist, Anushree Patodia, class X student at Navrachana School Sama (CBSE), Vadodara. The show through this digital initiative interrogates “how do we stay relevant in a post-COVID-19 world?” with the art spaces closing doors.
